Description: The UF Health Cancer Center is proud to present the Junior Faculty Cancer. We are hosting eight K99 awardees from across the nation. This event is open to faculty, staff, UFHCC members and affiliates, lab members and trainees. The invitees will give brief talks about their work, attend presentations by UF faculty, tour the ICBR and learn about the excellent faculty development opportunities at the University of Florida.

The 17th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Trailride
Who: The Levy County Horse Club Trailriders

Where: Tidewater Trailhead in Goethe State Forest | 12550 SE 137 Street, Dunnellon, FL 34431
Description: Trailride at Tidewater Trailhead in the Goethe State Forest located at the south end of CR 337 in Levy County in conjunction with Forest Awareness Month and Greenways and Trail Month. There is a $30 fee per rider. Overnight primitive camping is available for those coming in on Friday or staying over till Sunday. Proceeds benefit the UFHCC.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

Where: Downtown Gainesville, front of Hippodrome
Description: Last year 25 teams comprised of 500 UF Health employees participated. The UFHCC will be at the event with a tent and 2,000 pairs of pink sunglasses to give away. Additional UF Health Cancer Center activities include a photo booth and hair painting with hot pink hair spray. We also have two Real Men Wear Pink participants this year, Dr. Mast and Dr. Heldermon. Pink Pumpkin Pedal-Off

Description: A charity bike-ride throughout scenic Gainesville. Riders will have their choice of three different routes: 22-, 40- or 62.5-miles. All three routes include a tour of the beautiful University of Florida campus, Gainesville’s restored depot and historic areas and the traffic-free Gainesville Hawthorne Trail.
