UF Brain Tumor Education Day

Details: UF Brain Tumor Education Day will offer patients with brain tumors and caregivers the opportunity to learn about treatment options and resources available at UF Health. A panel of experts led by members of the Preston A. Wells, Jr. Center for Brain Tumor Therapy team will give informative talks about brain tumors in pediatric and adult patients, brain tumor treatments, brain tumor research and clinical trials. The panel will answer questions from the audience. Anyone impacted by brain tumors is welcome, and breakfast and lunch will be served. The event is free and preregistration is encouraged. Cancer Connections: Head & Neck Therapy

Details: UF Health physical therapists Derly Munoz and Shannon Blewett will discuss the benefits of physical therapy for patients with head and neck cancers, as well as new treatment interventions and lymphedema management.
Objectives:
- Participants will understand PT implications for head and neck cancer.
- Attendees will learn about new interventions in the treatment of head and neck cancer.
- Audience will know about lymphedema management and UF Health’s protocol.

Healthy Advantage | Cancer Wellness and Support Seminar: “Harnessing Your Inner Energy”

Details: Please join Survivors for Research founders Barb Thomas and Terry Weber for tea at the museum — where you will be served tea, mimosas, finger sandwiches and desserts. Wear your favorite hat and dress; there will be a “Best Hat” contest and some great items to be raffled. The fundraising event is $50, benefiting triple negative breast cancer research at the UF Health Cancer Center. The guest speaker is Coy Heldermon, M.D., Ph.D. Learn more here.

Learn about women’s health, getting better sleep, reducing pain, understanding clinical trials and how to reduce your cancer risk. Learn how to use an AED or how to do CPR to save a life. Assess your risks for stroke, heart disease or aneurysm. Each attendee will receive a FREE expo bag with giveaways. There will also be 30ft. giant inflatable colon so you can see up close how your colon works. Discover what a polyp, cancer or other diseases of the colon look like.
