Dr. Markham was also selected to join the Association of American Cancer Institutes’ Physician Clinical Leadership Initiative Steering Committee.

The European Association for Cancer Research has selected the manuscript of Sarah Tomkovich, Ph.D., a biological scientist in Christian Jobin’s, Ph.D., lab, in the EACR’s Top 10 Cancer Research Publications, a summary of the most interesting and impactful papers in cancer research.

Paul Crispen, M.D., and Li-Ming Su, M.D., represented the UF Health Cancer Center at the 2020 Southeastern Section of the American Urological Association kidney cancer podium session “Association between nuclear grade of renal cell carcinoma and the aorta-lesion-attenuation difference.”
Elias Sayour, M.D., Ph.D.
Elias Sayour, M.D., Ph.D., will be awarded a $2.5 million grant from the Cure Search Now Foundation to support a first-in-human clinical trial of his RNA nano-particle vaccine in adult and pediatric patients with malignant gliomas. His proposal was selected as one of two awarded grants through a nationwide competitive application.

Stephanie Staras’, Ph.D., grant for her study titled “Using implementation science strategies to decrease HPV-related cancers” was converted from an R01 to a seven-year R35.
Matthew Taddeo
Matt Taddeo, clinical research coordinator for bone marrow transplant research, won coordinator of the year at the Transplantation & Cellular Therapy Meeting. This meeting is the combined annual meetings of the American Society for Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (ASTCT) and the Center for International Blood & Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR).
Commission on Cancer Reaccreditation
The UF Health Cancer Network, comprising UF Health and the UF Health Cancer Center at Orlando Health, has received a full accreditation by the Commission on Cancer, a quality program of the American College of Surgeons. READ MORE
