Nursing students show support for professor, breast cancer survivor
Every October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Dr. Allison Peters’ students surprise her with a show of support. This year, B.S.N. senior Chelsea Hudson purchased pink masks for Peters and her fellow Gator Nursing students in the Clinical Reasoning and Personalized Nursing Care course. Peters was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2002, but after 16 years of remission, the cancer returned in 2018. She has undergone chemotherapy, surgery and radiation, and a recent MRI showed she is tumor-free!
