The continued growth of the UF Health Cancer Center is dependent upon your success as members, therefore your recommendations on how we can best meet your future needs is crucial for planning purposes. Additionally, the NCI requires that we continuously evaluate our programs and services and measure their efficacy.

The 120 survey respondents received a $5 Starbucks gift card as a token of appreciation for completing the 10-minute survey. While the survey results were confidential and aggregated with other responses, those who included their name were entered into a drawing for a larger prize. Congratulations to Dr. Paul Crispen for having his name drawn from the hat (mine, to be exact); he won an Echo Dot Smart Speaker with Alexa!

The survey’s 40% response rate provided some significant data for our consideration. Overall, we were heartened by the number of positive responses, especially regarding our Shared Resources, Working Groups, website and Pilot Grants. We are also strategizing to address areas where additional improvements can be made.

• The vast majority of respondents chose “Seminar is effective as structured” for both our Oncology Grand Rounds and Topics in Cancer seminars.
• When asked to select the level of importance of Cancer Center programs/services, Pilot Grants and Shared Resources received the most “Very Important” votes.
• Collaboration opportunities were overwhelmingly voted the most valuable aspect of research program meetings.
• Pilot project funding is the most common type of internal research funding attained from the Cancer Center by members.
• The vast majority of members said they regularly use the Cancer Center website and can find the information they’re looking for.
